Vrindavan Gardens : Where "Atma" (soul) meets "Parmatma" (God)

Vrindavan is located in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, India, widely known for more than a thousand temples of Radha Rani, the immortal love of Lord Krishna. Among them, Bakebihari temple is the most famous. During the holy festivals of Janmashtami, Radhasthami and Holi, it becomes more beautiful with people decorating the temples with garlands and exchanging sweets.

However, Vrindavan is also famous for another reason, a mystery that is unresolved for centuries, that still attracts tourists and devotees of Lord Krishna from all over the world.

What is the mystery?

Nidhivan, a forest area in the middle of Vrindavan comprising of twisted trees and dry bushes that seem like never seen rain in years, is one of the prime scared places of Vrindavan, and even today local believes Radha and Krishna appear with their beloved Gopies and perform Raslila every night.

Gopies were the same saints and sagas who performed “tapasya” in the Period of Lord Rama to become his devotee in the next birth to attain Moksha.

Rasleela is a group dance form where God and his devotees, dance together leaving all worries behind. Raslila is purely a love between 'Atma' (soul) and 'Paramatma' (God) to merge within, usually misunderstood by many and consider as male-female material enjoyment.

According to Vedic Grantha Bhagavata Purana and Gita Govinda, Krishna met Radha for the first time in Vrindavan and Radha’s friends and the whole village became his devotee. One night the sound of Krishna’s flute pulled out all Gopis from their homes in the forest and danced throughout the night with the shadows of Lord Krishna, made by Devi Yogmaya (Goddess of illusion).

As of now, it is believed Raslila is still being performed every night in Nidhivan, and the trees in this garden transformed themselves

into ‘Gopis’ and danced with Lord Krishna as he plays the flute.

There are certain rules strictly followed by locals and priest, and even government can't interfere. One of them is, that nobody is allowed in the forest at night, it is believed any outer force that had entered the forest, had suffered from dementia and wasn't able to recall what had happened or lost his memory, in several cases concerned person becomes dumb, deaf and even blind.

There is also a small temple dedicated to Radha and Krishna’s pastimes called Rang Mahal.

If you want some peace and hear thousands of stories of Radha and Lord Krishan you must visit Vrindavan to get eternal peace.
